About the Project

This started as a passion project, a way to explore stylised procedural illustration using Blender’s Geometry Nodes.

I never meant to release it. I planned to turn it into a tutorial, but time got away from me. People kept asking. So here it is, messy, functional, and full of ideas.

This file is not optimised. It’s not organised.
But it’s finished, and it works.

Every island is unique, randomly generated at the push of a button.
The shapes, rotation, height, assets, terrain… everything is procedural.
No external textures. No plug-ins. Just Blender.

Note:
This is a working file, not a polished product.
Some node setups are inefficient. Some names are nonsense.
There are spelling mistakes and redundant setups.
It’s messy, but it’s real. And it works.

What You Get

  • 1 .blend file (final working project)
  • All procedural assets, shaders, and Geometry Node setups
  • Hundreds of handmade stylised assets, including:
    • Stilt houses
    • Lighthouses
    • Boats, docks, crates, debris
    • Procedural grass, trees, flowers, rocks
    • Animated birds
  • A full procedural worldbuilder, not just assets
  • Renders for previews
  • No documentation or tutorial
  • No asset browser or naming conventions

Usage

  • Select the object named MAIN ISLAND
  • In the Modifiers tab, find the Geometry Nodes modifier
  • Change the W value (Random Seed) to generate a new island
  • Adjust node sliders to tweak terrain height, tree density, asset variation, and more
  • Tip: Navigate in Solid View for smoother performance
  • The file is large, allow a few seconds for things to load

Version & Compatibility

  • Created in Blender 3.8
  • Also tested in 4.0 (may break in newer versions)
  • Rendered in Eevee
  • No plug-ins required

Use It To

  • Study advanced Geometry Node logic
  • Rip out shaders, logic, assets, and ideas
  • Build your own version
  • Start from chaos and make something new

Final Thought

This is a creative snapshot. A living file.
It taught me a lot, and now I’m moving on.
Thanks to everyone who asked, it means a lot.
Now it’s yours.

P.S. I’m open to freelance work or collaborations, if you like what I do and want to work together, feel free to reach out via boney.design/contact or message me through Gumroad.
